Happy Trails to Glory Inn

April's luncheon was located at the beautiful Glory Inn about 10 miles outside of College Station. The Glory Inn is a retreat type dining area used to serve the community as well as raise funds for the girls home.

Women from the current and future planning team prepared a wonderful potluck meal.
We are a group of women that finds great joy in providing for the needs of others in our community. Margaret O’Quinn, founder of Still Creek Ranch, informed us of their need for paper products. So we all brought paper products of all types to leave at the ranch: paper towels, plates, computer paper, toliet paper, napkins, etc! A very special thank you to all who brought paper gifts for Still Creek!

A trio of women singers entertained us with beautiful gospel hymns!

Speaker Melody Thompson shared her personal trials in life and how the Lord gave her the strength to overcome them. Melody brought her collection of Precious Moments figurines which serve as sweet reminders of God's grace. Take a look at Still Creek Ranch's website here: www.stillcreekranch.org for more information!

Join us next month for a very special 25th Birthday of the Bryan/College Station Christian Women's Connection!

Spring Bling!

From the feature to the speaker, "Spring Bling" was the theme at this month's luncheon! The table decorations were pastel colored baskets filled with spring chicks and succulents! Even the dessert was a pastel green pie!

Fellowship before the luncheon began.
Strong, lasting friendships are made at Christian Women's Connection. Our speaker even spoke about how important the friendships she made at the CWC were in her life.
Beautiful faces!
The ladies from Hilltop Lakes are a joy to see each month!

Bling! Bling! We participated in a jewelry exchange! Each of us brought a piece of gently used jewelry that we didn't wear much anymore to exchange for another piece that we may wear more often.Margaret found a keeper!
Grace models a potential pick! She decided to go with a pair of silver hoops that was "just what she needed."

Donna and Becky show off their picks.

Jo and Carol each find something special.

Julia Gardner of David Gardner Jewelers spoke to us about jewelry fashion and current trends. We were honored to have Julia at our luncheon as her and David are so kind to provide the print funding each month for our luncheon invitations.

Donna and Tiffany assisted Julia for the day and modeled pieces from the shop!

Bryana and Donna take a closer look at a necklace and bracelet.
Speaker for the day, Grace Pryor, delighted our hearts with laughter and inspiration! Grace spoke to us about her life's journey that included many unexpected job changes and moves all over Texas. She shared how important each Christian Women's Connection was to her during the move and how her choice to follow Christ through it all was her strength.
Grace is pictured with Chairman Judy Bell.

Join us next month as we travel to the Glory Inn for a very special "Paper Party" honoring the Still Creek Ranch!

Facing February Luncheon

In February, we talked about how to "face" those pesky daily challenges and obstacles head on!

Joan was the athlete of the day!

Enjoying the fellowship before the luncheon!

Can you spot some friendly faces?

Judy Heaney and Bonnie Weber from the Ag Silvers, a local senior women's competitive 3-on-3 basketball team, join us to share how they "faced" their competition!

The goals of basketball team are: to encourage fun and fellowship with other women in our age group, to promote good health and fitness habits through regular exercise, and to compete and qualify in the local, state and national Senior Games and other invitational tournaments held each year. Click HERE to visit the Ag Silver's website.

A sports themed centerpiece decorated each table.
Our wonderful speaker Dorothy Stall is pictured to the right of Judy Bell and Margaret Johnson.
As a successful entrepreneur in multiple business ventures, Dorothy shared how she once had the attitude of "I can do it myself!." After a major obstacle brought her business to a halt, she quickly realized she could no longer "do it herself." Dorothy found the Lord and began relying on His strength to overcome daily challenges.

Join us next month for a very special "Spring Bling!"

Unlocking Your Future

The theme of January's luncheon was Unlocking Your Future. The day was full of great fellowship, wonderful music, and inspiring words from our speaker!

Becky Oyler, our Bible Study coordinator, was joined by her life long friend.
Our wonderful chair, Judy Bell, was unable to be with us this month so Margaret Johnson chaired the luncheon and did a fabulous job!

Speaker, Nancy Briggs, shared stories of how she was made new again in her "Search for Significance." She found God while she was searching for truth. She told stories of how the Lord has always provided for every need. Nancy is pictured with Carly Whitmer.

It was a joy to hear pianist Sherry Woodruff play beautiful hymns on the piano! Sherry is pictured here with Jeanne Beckman.

Here is a surprise for those who were unable to make it to the luncheon. A sneak peak of Sherry's wonderful skills!

We look forward to seeing you in February when we will have special guests Ag Silvers and speaker Dorothy Stall, a successful entrepreneur that will share how she discovered that she couldn’t always “do it herself.”
